Becoming a Food Critic

Our adventures with rice cereal have begun. Ave gave the bland (we know, we tried it)stuff a go earlier this week for the first time! She's taking a liking to it now, but more definitely ends up on the bib than anywhere else!

Telling Stories

Here's a cute video of Avery doing what she does all the time now- talking:) (well, not really). She also learned to roll over this week from belly to back and did it several times (although of course I can't seem to capture it on video!)!

Fun-filled Week

What a fun week, kicked off by the birth of Avery's cousin, Addy, who is precious! Avery Kate's Grandma and Grandpa Beeching came to visit this week, and we made plaster prints of Avery's hand and foot, which was hilarious. Check out the pics above- she was very cooperative, until the very end. Notice the very top pic of us getting her footprint...again she is giving us the middle finger (her trademark move)! We also went to Gabby Beerman's first birthday party this weekend, and Avery and Gabby posed for a pic on the couch (this is our favorite thing to do, pose the babies on couches!). We then went over to visit cousin Addy at Jen and Scott's house, and she is doing great! As you can see, we captured one of Avery and Addy's first meetings on film. The two discussed fashion and who they thought would win the Golden Globes later that night. The very top pictures are of sweet Ave sleeping on her daddy's shoulder and showing us her fantastic head control on her stomach. By the way, her four month check-up was this weekend, and she has grown to a whopping 25 1/2 inches long (from 19 1/2 at birth)- she's in the 80% for height! She's weighing in at 13 lbs. 4 oz.- 50% for weight. She's just perfect:).

Addy is here! Avery's cousin made her debut on Sunday night at 10:08! She's 7 pounds of perfection and we are so excited! Here are some early pics! :) Let the matching cousin outfits, slumber parties, cookie baking, play dates, and family vacations (okay I'm getting ahead of myself) begin! Yea!!

Our friends Erin and Doug Stachler came to visit this weekend with their boys Nolan and Reid. Here's a sweet picture of Nolan holding hands with Avery, and one of Avery and Reid. Reid was born only two weeks before Avery! And there's a random pic of Ave wearing Chris's Stetson hat from the Army-scary! :)

Waking up

Avery is super excited (and we all are too!), because her cousin Addy might be on the way tonight! Aunt Jen went to the hospital this afternoon, so we'll update the blog with news and pictures when we have them!

Here's a video of our little Avery waking up... the "Miracle Blanket" is truly a miracle! Ave sleeps on average from about 9:30 to 5:30 or 6:00 and then eats and goes back to sleep until 9:00 or so! She's awesome!

Happy New Year!

Avery rang in the new year with lots of fun- you can see in the bottom picture how worn out she was after we spent New Year's Eve with our friends Matt and Cathy and their daughter Gabby! We spent New Year's Day at Nana and Grandpa Finney's house (Avery enjoyed some time in the Bumbo seat, and fell asleep on Grandpa's lap- too much fun!). I thought I'd also include a video of her in the jumperoo because she's just too funny!
