Our Week with a Cold

Man, colds are the worst at this age! Nothing you can really do, and their little noses run and run and run! Avery's been a trooper, though. She's been pretty smiley, as evidenced by her good spirits in the video. Too bad she fell backwards at the end (don't worry- no crying, although I felt guilty for not having a pillow there!). The first little picture of her peering through the crib slats cracks me up... We recently took off our cute polka-dot bumper, and put up one of those "breathable bumpers" because Avery has been rolling into the sides of the crib. In this picture, she was sleeping on her back when I left the nursery 5 minutes before, but when I went back to check on her- she was peeking through the crib slats grinning at me. Too funny. I also like the pics of Ave on our bed- She was sitting up playing with toys one minute, then lounging the next- this cold is taking a lot out of her! We took the top picture this morning- she always has a smile for the camera- even through tons of snot!

Hanging out with Nana and Papa

If you click on the link, there are a few cute pics of Avery hanging out with her Nana and Papa- this included a fun-filled trip to the park and a bath in the sink! Too cute! I couldn't figure out how to post them directly to the blog (not technologically advanced enough, and no time to figure it out!). Avery has her first cold right now, which stinks! She is in no mood for pics or videos, so we'll try to update sometime next week. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day, and Happy Half-Birthday Avery!

Happy Half-Birthday Avery! Our girl is 6 months old, and she's weighing in at 15 lbs., 14 ozs. and she's 26 inches tall (she's super tall- already outgrown her infant carseat- whoa!). She's so fun- she can sit up now and play with toys (well until she reaches for something and does a faceplant:), and she jibber-jabbers all the time- she actually says ma-ma-ma-ma and da-da-da-da, but of course she has no concept of what she's saying (but it's still nice to hear!). We are excited to celebrate St. Pat's day today- we're planning on learning some Irish pub songs, dyeing our milk green, and looking at Mommy's pictures of the summer semester she spent in Dublin in college (okay, maybe we'll skip that part). We're also going over to Uncle Scott, Aunt Jen, and Cousin Addy's house for a traditional Irish meal! Enjoy the pictures of Avery- as you can tell, her sweet smile is only in a few of them- instead she gave me the evil eye after dressing her up and subjecting her to photo sessions!

Avery Meets Squash

Jeez- the days just seem to fly by! It's hard to believe that our little Avery Kate is almost 6 months old- it goes way too fast:). So, after several bouts with an allergy to rice cereal, Avery is finally able to eat oat cereal consistently, which means that we could finally move on to veggies! That's right, a whole new world of stains has opened up to us:). Here's a video of Avery's first encounter with squash- all in all it was pretty good considering what that stuff tastes like (I sampled it- bleh!).
