Whew! Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and new ear tubes- one stop shopping for a yucky experience at Children's Hospital! All in all, Avery was a champ, but jeez, what a rough night we had down there! The doc said her tonsils were simply massive, and the poor thing was whimpering all Friday after the surgery. We spent the night in the complex airway unit, and Avery would just wake up and wail all night- so sad! She didn't want to eat or drink, so we weren't sure we would be discharged on Saturday, but they finally let us go around 2:00 p.m. Since we've been home she's been back to her old self (read: yikes!)...running around way too much, but still shying away from eating or drinking too much so hopefully that will improve!
