Avery Loves Cranberries

What a lovely Thanksgiving!  We spent turkey day with Mimi and "Tommy" (Grandpa Tom) in Cleveland, and of course it was a feast! Avery thoroughly enjoyed the cranberries, a girl after her mother's heart.  Avery did not venture out with me for Black Friday however, she is still in training for that; it takes many years of conditioning to be ready for that kind of shopping stamina and strategizing...you just can't rush these things.  She does show signs of being a natural Black Friday warrior however; one of her favorite things to do currently is to play "store";  she lines up items on couch cushions and then shops for them, swiping her "credit card" (usually a library card) through the slat in the cushions- she always adds an enthusiastic "ding!" for emphasis.  Love it. What a little turkey- we are so very thankful for her.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Avery Kate had 4 of her grandparents on hand for the special occasion.  She was a self-proclaimed "melon", and super cute and happy...that is until she wiped out twice on the sidewalk, resulting in bloody knees and a major drama queen of Halloween moment.  You would think with all of the padding on the watermelon costume she would have been fine, but she hit the concrete just right, poor thing. Mimi had cider and doughnuts for us when we returned from trick-or-treating so that made everything all right, as cider and doughnuts usually do:).
