Fun-Filled Fall Weekends

Whew! We've had a busy couple of weekends visiting friends and family! Last weekend we went to Indianapolis to see the Mikshas, some wonderful friends from our Fort Knox days. They were such great hosts, and we all went to the Indy Children's Museum- a must-see! Avery so enjoyed the massive dinosaur skeletons, digging for dino bones, exploring "ancient Egypt", riding on an antique carousel, and generally running helter skelter through crowds of children, causing my gray hairs to multiply exponentially. She is one busy little lady these days. I once read that putting your child on a leash is barbaric, but I'm quite certain that the author of that article has never met any little friends like Avery. Last weekend Nana and I also took Avery and Addy to good 'ol Parky's Farm- what a find! We took a hay ride to a pumpkin patch and the girls loved petting animals and again running helter-skelter, but this time without as much of a risk of being kidnapped (but there was an increased risk of landing in sheep poop). This weekend we headed up to Cleveland to see Mimi, Grandpa Tom (recently dubbed just "Tommy" by Avery) and... Uncle Derin and Aunt Karisa, who were in town with the Seahawks to play the Browns! What a great time we had with them- so wish they lived closer to us! Avery had a blast with Derin and "Risa" as she calls her, and it was a lovely Fall weekend!
